Extended Description

The Wallace and Gromit Children's Charity offers grants to registered charities in the UK working to improve the quality of life for children in hospitals and hospices.

The Charity aims to fund projects which are not funded directly by the NHS. This could be, for example, arts, play and music programmes for patients, facilities for parents such as parent accommodation, a wide range of projects in children's hospices, capital building programmes for children's hospitals and hospices and state of the art equipment.

Latest Information

The deadline for applications is 18 October 2019.

Key Criteria

Grants will only be made to registered charities.

Preference is given to:

  • Projects conceived by and in children’s hospitals and hospices.
  • Distributing grants directly to children’s hospitals and hospices in regional centres around the UK, who meet the following criteria:
    • Provide a regional geographic healthcare service to a wide range of children in a hospital/hospice.
    • Will not discriminate on the grounds of wealth, race, sexuality, religion or disability.
    • Agree to promote the work of the Charity in their area.

Applications from organisations working within hospitals and hospices will be considered but will require a supporting reference from the Hospital/Hospice itself.

Please note that the Charity has a long-standing relationship with a number of organisations and to whom they are sympathetic and to whom priority consideration may be given.

Eligible Expenditure

Grants must enrich and improve the quality of life of sick children in hospitals or hospices in any area in the UK.

The following are examples of projects the Foundation is looking to support:

  • Promoting education and information programmes.

  • Medical equipment (when it can be shown that funding is not available from statutory sources).
