12 July 2010 - GSK IMPACT Awards Criteria Update

The GlaxoSmithKline IMPACT Awards have reopened for 2010 with small updates to criteria and eligibility.

The GlaxoSmithKline IMPACT Awards are designed to reward charities that are doing excellent work to improve people’s health.

Up to 20 awards will be made with an overall winner receiving £35,000, nine other winners receiving £25,000 and highly commended and runners up receiving £5,000 and £3,000. In addition 15 of the award winners will be offered free training valued at £4,000.

Applicants must be:

  • A registered charity by the deadline for applications (24 September 2010). The organisation must also have existed for a minimum of three years by this date.
  • Located in the UK.
  • Targeting community health needs in the UK. Community can be defined as a geographical community or a community of interest.
  • Have a total annual income between £10,000 and £1.5 million
  • Be independently constituted from any national umbrella organisation.

A unique feature of the GlaxoSmithKline IMPACT Awards is that they recognise excellence in existing work. The assessment is based on the work organisation and will focus on excellence in six areas of IMPACT.

  • Innovation.
  • Management.
  • Partnership.
  • Achievement.
  • Community focus.
  • Targeting need.

Applications must be made online by 5pm on Friday 24 September 2010.

Shortlisted entries will then be subject to a visit from an independent assessor to evaluate their work in greater depth.
