12 July 2010 - Cambridgeshire Disability Charities Announce Merger
Opportunities Without Limits (OWL) and the Papworth Trust have announced their intention to work together for disabled people across the region.
The new charity will employ over 300 staff working with 17,000 disabled people annually across the East of England.
The merger will be complete by the autumn with the process formally beginning in September.
Adrian Bagg, chief executive of Papworth Trust, said:
“By working together OWL and Papworth Trust will be able to do much more for disabled people in the future.
"In the meantime, both organisations will continue to provide a wide range of high quality services that make a real difference to the lives of disabled people."
Kevin McMullen, chair of OWL, added:
"OWL has made a huge difference to the lives of disabled people since it was formed in 1996. This is a fantastic opportunity for two of Cambridgeshire's best-known charities to come together and offer even more choice to disabled people."
